Vintage Lace

A friend of mine decided to do some summer cleaning and came across some of her grandmothers lace. She gave it to me because she knows how much I love to create. I'm not exactly sure what I'm going to use it for but many ideas are in the works! There are some really pretty patterns. I love how its still on the original cards and how the dates are printed on there as well as the company's. You'll see some of the dates printed in the pictures below. Some are even older than I am. I guess that makes me vintage now too ;)

Unexpected Vintage Find

So our family moved into a new apartment on June 1st! We have so much more space now and I'm so excited to begin tastefully filling it! I went to a local Antique shop yesterday with my daughter looking for end tables for my bedroom. Of course every table I found that I loved didn't have a matching one. Its fun to keep looking though! We came across the kitchen section and there was this little box looking dresser thing. I had to know what this was. It was so small and looked so interesting! I pulled one of the drawers out and out came a coaster! This was such a great little find! We needed coasters anyways and finding coasters as cool as these was worth the trip since I didn't find my end tables =) We love them! When my husband saw them last night he told me that his grandparents used to have a very similar set. Its so great to be able to bring back a piece like this to life in a new home! I'd say we did good for our first outing of many! Here are some pictures!

What a Holiday Rush!

This is my first post since November as I had no idea what Etsy had in store for me for the holiday! =) Last year this time I was still building my inventory and tweaking my pictures. I know that Etsy gets incredibly busy for the holidays but I had no idea that I would be part of it this year! I remember it starting for me in October. I have this need to get orders out as soon as possible because I know how excited people are to get them. I also love signing in to see that "you need to leave feedback message". I still do a happy dance to this day. Its such a great feeling! Once the order is complete, I always leave feedback to get rid of the numbers at the top as a feeling of accomplishment so to speak. Well I was about 42 deep in November...the orders did not stop coming in which was amazing! I was thrilled! I love being able to share my creativity with all of you and I still cannot believe how crazy busy it really gets. I was crocheting about 12-15 hours a day. I thought my husband was going to come home from work one night and find me wrapped up under pounds and pounds of yarn with my crochet hooks stuck to my hands...lol. What a great holiday season. The Etsy community rocks and I am so proud to be part of it!!! Here is to another great year! May 2011 be just as good if not better!
